The DD-S1003XX jeans from Warehouse & Co. are a faithful reproduction of the iconic "World War II models" produced between 1943 and 1946, reflecting the resourcefulness of an era defined by scarcity and innovation. Unlike the more recognized wartime designs with donut buttons, these jeans feature iron buttons, preserving a connection to peacetime production while blending distinctive wartime elements such as asymmetrical and distorted back pockets, painted arcuate stitching, and riveted coin pockets. These design choices capture the unique aesthetics of the time, embodying the challenges and ingenuity of the wartime manufacturing process.

The denim, weighing slightly over 14 oz, is meticulously woven with a 6.7 x 6.6 yarn count, replicating the qualities of original wartime fabric. Warehouse employs a unique refining process before rope dyeing, using room-temperature water rather than the standard high-temperature method. This approach results in a "white yarn inside," leaving the core of the yarn undyed, which, when paired with the deep indigo dye, creates a striking contrast that enhances the denim's ability to age beautifully over time.

Fit Notes:  Tommy is wearing a 33 in this pant. The jeans are crafted with a straight silhouette, a deep rise, and ample room around the hips, staying true to the varied and non-uniform styles of the era while ensuring both comfort and authenticity. The waist does run very true to tag size, meaning for us that the 33 was a bit small for the shoot. Tommy would size up to the 34 in these. We recommend sizing up once from what you normally wear in this pair, as they are still slim in the waist. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
